Bay Colony Golf Club is situated in the Cocohatchee Strand Nature Preserve. The championship-length Robert Von Hagge designed golf course offers broad expanses of greenery and rolling fairways, in a meticulously groomed yet natural setting.
The membership of the Bay Colony Golf Club voted in the Fall of 2007 to remodel and add to their existing golf clubhouse. The improvements included the addition of a new kitchen and back-of-house space along with the remodeling of the dining venues to provide flexibility and added capacity to satisfy a growing demand for the superior cuisine and service at the club. Construction began in the winter of 2008 and was completed in summer 2009.
The southern plantation-styled clubhouse allows members and their guest to enjoy a choice of dining venues, from casual and al fresco, to private or grand white line with white glove service – tasteful, refined, and exclusive. Relocating the main kitchen from the center of the existing building to a new two-story addition next to the loading dock, service yard enhanced both the front-of-house experience for the patrons and the back-of-house experience for the culinary staff.
In its original location a new private dining room was created with portable acoustical wall panels. When the panels are stored away, the space with wood floor and coffered ceilings serves as the dance floor, entertainment setup, or area for portable buffet setup. The highlight of the remodeling and expansion was the creation of a casual 19th-hole grille, bar/lounge adjacent to the main dining room which can be used for expanded dining room seating for large events when needed.
