For this 22,000 sqft renovation and 10,000 sqft addition the challenge was to transform the existing fitness facility with multiple covered walkways between buildings into a state of the art wellness environment for all ages to enjoy. The project included expanded Fitness and Wellness areas, Pilates and Spin Studios, a Signature Spa, Cyber Cafe, Nail Salon and Fitness/Tennis retail shop.

The new Fitness area was expanded to solve the lack of stretching space and tightly spaced equipment. The latest developments in club fitness programs were incorporated including a virtual spin room and dedicated physical therapy rooms. The fitness changing areas and washrooms were completely refurbished including new lockers with relaxation space, showers, whirlpools and steam rooms.

For the Moonstone Spa the goal was to create a unique, signature spa experience. Because the available space was required to be adjacent to the existing fitness facility, the design team created a central gallery creating a spa mood and ambiance separating it from the rest of the facility while creating a unified connectivity with the interior design. Finished in warm natural tones with dark millwork accents and a custom glass drip fountain the spa arrival sequence was designed to create a sense of arrival and decompression from the rest of the building. Dedicated locker, shower and grooming areas were designed for spa guests. Wet and dry lounges for both men and women flank the six private treatment rooms all with private showers. Bamboo wood flooring, natural slate floor titles, brown marble wall tiles and stacked pebble stones accent the spaces.

The existing Cafe was relocated and remodeled with a series of outdoor corridors into a Cyber Cafe to provide an energetic, yet casual food and beverages in a casual atmosphere for connecting at the Club throughout the day. Located directly off of the new Entry Rotunda the Cyber Cafe provides a central point for members to gather, relax, rejuvenate and check their electronics before and after workouts or treatments. Various soft seating groups were created for lounging, dining and socializing. The warm, natural rich of the millwork with accents of orange and rust colors in the ceiling and fabrics provides a continuity with the rest of major spaces. Just off the Cyber Cafe is an awning-covered terrace with comfortable soft seating overlooking the activities on center court with a Pro Shop offering tennis and fitness apparel and equipment.
