Dublin, Ohio

Home of the prestigious Memorial Tournament since 1976, Muirfield Village has been consistently ranked in the Top-20 in the United States and Top-50 in the world since it opened. Voted the No. 1 course in golf-rich Ohio. Muirfield Village Golf Club was the dream and work of Jack Nicklaus, in association with Desmond Muirhead.

Peacock + Lewis worked closely with the Nicklaus Family, some lifelong friends of Nicklaus’s, the city of Dublin, Ohio, Nicklaus LaRocca, GM and the Muirfield Staff to create a multi-phased master plan for the Clubhouse remodeling and additions which was presented to the membership in September of 2011. Phase I, which commenced construction in March 2012 and completed in May 2013, includes a New Fitness Building with a Cart Barn, Caddy Area and Bag Storage on the lower level. This new building replaced a cart barn building which was scheduled for extensive remolding and moved the fitness offering out of the upper level of the men’s locker room, not convenient for use by women.

Phase II which commenced construction after completion of the Memorial Tournament in June of 2012 and included the additions and remodeling to the existing Clubhouse. Concerns about the dated look inside and out, motivating underutilized member use space and creating permanent infrastructure to minimize the setup and tear down of structures for the annual tournament prompted the comprehensive remodeling.

Phase III which commenced construction in November of 2012; included six lodge units with viewing Terraces above and press rooms and player interview space below. Phase III was designed to preclude the need for additional temporary structures at future Memorial Tournaments. All phases were completed in time for the playing of the 2013 Memorial Golf Tournament and the 2013 Presidents Cup. Response to the new amenities by the current and potential new members has created a wait list for entry into the Club.

The building was designed to be the full access year round clubhouse providing the services of card playing, cardio, strength, endurance training, stretching, floor exercises, spa treatments and full service locker facilities with steam room showers and gracious grooming areas.

The décor of this new building was designed to be consistent with the cozy, warm and welcoming feel of the clubhouse and new corporate suites. With finishes to support the active, energetic activities of physical fitness, strength training and enhanced golf performance.
