Since its inception in 1945, Riviera Country Club was known as the premier, year-round, family-friendly neighborhood country club in the community. The clubhouse was added to and remodeled several times over the years and in the late nineties and early 2000’s experienced some moisture damage due to disrepair and deferred maintenance. With a golf course redesign already underway, the decision was made to allocate space in the redesign of the course for construction of a new clubhouse while keeping the existing clubhouse active, so members were able to continue use all the existing amenities.
The design and integration of the new structures with the new golf course was successfully accomplished with the goal of casual dining venues having the best long views down the 18th fairway to the iconic Biltmore Hotel on the adjacent property.
Upon completion in December 2018, the members received a beautiful new golf course fully integrated with the new two-story clubhouse, larger and lushly landscaped parking areas, a new aquatics complex with a two-story fitness center overlooking the aquatics and golf.
Before construction completed, the membership grew from 850 to 1000 and now has a wait list for entry (two year for social, one year for golf) returning the Club to the social epicenter of the community.
