The Country Club of Florida is located in the serene hamlet of The Village of Golf, Florida. When this residential community was founded in 1956 by Carlton Blount, it was a seasonal getaway for those escaping the harsh winters of the Midwest to play golf on a beautiful Robert Bruce Harris designed golf course and relax in a Florida environment naturally inhabited by many native birds. Competition for new members, proximity to expanding South Florida development activity and limited opportunity for residential expansion within this exclusive gated community forced the club to improve their aging but comfortable facilities to remain viable.

This new clubhouse was designed in a timeless, low country style with one story of the two story structure built into the hill. Inside the design is a casual traditional style with parlor scaled rooms to promote a quiet elegance for the members to comfortably enjoy their tropical winter retreat.

The site for the new clubhouse was cleared in March of 2002 with the original clubhouse staying in operation until it was torn down following the season of 2002-2003 with the new club opening on schedule for the season of 2003-2004 meeting the schedule and budget which the members voted on.
