This 6,200 sf facility consists of a fitness room with state-of-the-art cardio
and strength training equipment, a dedicated stretch room, a studio for group
exercise classes, a spa with two treatment rooms, newly appointed locker
rooms and an expanded lap pool and pool deck.
The arrival space offers a place to gather before and after workout, fitness
class, or spa treatment. The use of oyster shells speaks to the seaside location of
this property. The monolithic texture of the oyster shell wall is an illuminated
backdrop to the check-in desk. Wood tile floor compliments the oyster shell
palette and is easy to maintain. The reception desk doubles as a retail display
with ADA height counter integrated into the design. A fresh clean arrival
space sets high expectation for the healthy activities in the adjacent Group
Movement and Fitness Rooms. The sculptural edge-lit LED Neuron pendant
fixture captures movement and energy floating overhead. Clean white painted
beams and wood planked ceiling are accented with cove lighting.
The Group Exercise Room is designed to continue the uplifting, spacious,
uncluttered feel with indirect lighting, mirrored walls and large windows
overlooking the Tennis Courts. Engineered wood flooring is compatible with
the lobby wood look porcelain tile. The strength training/cardio studio elicits
the same clean, uncluttered appearance with custom upholstered trim on the
equipment matching the soft pastel colors selected for the walls and flooring.
Panoramic views to the surrounding lushly landscaped outdoor exercise
amenities stimulate the workout environment inside.
An expanded lap pool and deck were created with shell imbedded concrete
pavers and wave pattern stackable outdoor furniture. Pool tiles and umbrellas
compliment the tropical landscape and sky.
The hall connecting the outdoor Pool to interior Fitness and Spa is infused
with a tropical palette by the custom Jon Allen abstract metal wall panels.
The metal is a medium that conveys power and demonstrates the brilliance of
reflective light.
Washrooms, Grooming, Showers and Locker Rooms continue the clean
tropical ambiance with the use of reflective glass mosaics, the continuation of
the wood look tile, white millwork and frameless glass.
While the original facility experienced a 2% member usage, the new center
has seen an increase of 70% usage.
