It is my great pleasure to nominate Peacock + Lewis Architects and Planners, LLC and Brian Idle, P + L President, for the AIA Palm Beach Honor Award for the “Firm of the Year”. Since its inception in 1961, P + L has been instrumental the development, design, and construction of over 100 clubhouses and other hospitality amenity projects in PalmBeach County. P+L is truly regarded as the “finest” in clubhouse architecture and development, and as its leader, Mr.Idle is recognized as the top of his profession.
Mr. Idle’s passion for his profession and commitment to the community are evident by the firm’s longstanding relationship with many iconic Palm Beach County landmarks and community events such as the Breakers Palm Beach and The Honda Classic. The Breakers Palm Beach has been a client for nearly 25 years and P+L has been intimately involved with several projects at this family-owned international destination resort that has invested over $500million to preserve this crown jewel of Palm Beach County. In regards to the Honda Classic, Mr. Idle and P+L have served as a Honda Classic Ambassador and also the Title sponsor of the Peacock & Lewis CLUB for CLUBS chalet, and has been instrumental in helping the Honda Classic raise more than $44 million for the local community and southFlorida children’s’ charities. Furthermore, the P+L’s philanthropic presence is felt county-wide as Mr. Idle has contributed to and actively participated with numerous local charities including Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation, Jupiter Children’s Foundation, Lighthouse Arts Center, FLCMAA Charities, YMCA, Palm Beach CountyFood Bank’s CANstruction, and several others.
As the firm’s focus transitioned to the hospitality industry (golf and resort amenities), its adherence to the high standards of design excellence is evidenced by the numerous design awards from Golf Inc., Boardroom Magazine, ASID and AIA (see listing attached). Peacock + Lewis is a leader within their industry and so deserving of this great honor.
