Golf Inc. Magazine Honors Frenchman’s Creek Beach and Country Club with Best New Clubhouse of the Year Award

(PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.) — Frenchman’s Creek Beach & Country Club and Peacock + Lewis Architects and Planners, a part of Clubworks premier club, leisure, and hospitality-focused professional-services platform, announced today that the club’s new clubhouse has won First Place in the New Private Clubhouse category of Golf Inc. Magazine’s 2026 Clubhouse of the Year competition. The award will be featured in its September/October 2026 issue.

Opened in February 2026, the two-level, 130,000-square-foot British Regency-style clubhouse features clerestory towers and expansive glazing that flood dining, event, and recreation spaces with natural light. The lower level includes golf, tennis, and fitness amenities supporting the club’s 36 holes, 10 tennis courts, and 10 pickleball courts. The upper level centers on dining and events, highlighted by a 480-seat main dining room, with shaded loggias and colonnaded walkways seamlessly linking indoor and outdoor areas.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award for our new clubhouse. There were many people involved who share our sense of accomplishment. Having served as the President of Frenchman’s Creek during the final design and permitting process before transitioning as the Chairman of the Construction Committee, I had an active engagement in witnessing the fortitude, creativity and dedication it took to create such an iconic gathering facility for our community. I want to thank the talented professionals at Peacock and Lewis, who were one of our trusted partners from project inception until the last piece of carefully curated artwork was hung in place.” Michael Azeez, Past President of Frenchman’s Creek.

The clubhouse was also designed to withstand South Florida’s climate. The building sits 30 inches above the previous clubhouse grade and includes a stormwater management system to control runoff during storms. Daylighting from clerestory windows and glazed walls reduces the need for artificial illumination throughout the day, and a rainwater harvesting system captures roof runoff for use in irrigation of the landscaping.

“This award serves as recognition of the vision, talent and dedication of the many design professionals and member volunteers over the past six years who worked collaboratively to create a beacon of pride and transformative outcome for this elite South Florida community,” Brian Idle, CEO, Peacock + Lewis. “We have enjoyed a 26-year partnership with Frenchman’s Creek, completing many successful projects which has culminated in this iconic new clubhouse, setting a high bar for new clubhouse design in the Southeast.”

The First Place recognition reflects Peacock + Lewis’s longstanding commitment to creating club environments that respond not only to how members use their clubs today, but how those communities will continue to evolve in the decades ahead. This year’s win extends the firm’s recent run of recognition. Peacock + Lewis was named Golf Inc.’s Clubhouse of the Year in back-to-back years leading up to this award, taking First Place in 2025 for Telaro in the New Private Club category and in 2024 for Old Palm Golf Club in the Private Club Renovation category, and was named AIA Florida’s Firm of the Year in 2022.
