VILLAGE OF GOLF, FL

In 2021, Peacock + Lewis designed a new clubhouse building for The Country Club of Florida in the Village of Golf, Florida. For 20 years members enjoyed this classic building as their home away from home. As lifestyle trends toward casual spaces, an increased desire for outdoor dining, and a focus on health and wellness in interior environments informed the design direction for the renovation of the club’s main gathering place, the Pelican Grille.

Peacock + Lewis proposed a nature-themed and styled interior achieved through furnishing, finishes, artwork, and the creation of a gathering bar in the center of the newly expanded room. The existing high wood truss ceiling was transformed with crisp white paint, LED lighting and the addition of an acoustic ceiling material that mimics the original wood plank ceiling. A 21 foot wide opening in the exterior wall connects the outdoor dining patio with the interior dining room. The moveable glass doors expand the connection of the most coveted amenity, the view of the golf course. The result is a tranquil room where members and their guests can enjoy the benefits of a visual connection to nature.
